Acceptable Use Policy

Effective October 11, 2026
The short version

Use AppGena for real work, lawfully. Collect only what you have a right to collect, keep your sign-ins to yourself, and don't try to break, copy or overload the service.

This policy applies to every company that uses AppGena and to everyone who signs in under that company. It is part of our Terms of Service. Company owners and admins are responsible for making sure their team follows it.

1. Collect information lawfully

You may not use AppGena to:

  • Collect, photograph or record information about people without a lawful reason, or without the notices and consents the law requires. For example, do not photograph inside someone’s home without their permission, and do not record audio or video where it is not allowed.
  • Track a person’s location without their knowledge, or use location questions to monitor employees in a way your local law does not allow.
  • Store payment card numbers, bank account details, Social Security or other government ID numbers, or health information covered by HIPAA, unless we have agreed in writing that your use needs it.
  • Collect information from children under 16.
  • Build profiles of people for purposes they would not expect, or sell personal information collected through AppGena.

2. Keep content lawful and honest

You may not use AppGena to create, store or send content that:

  • Is illegal, fraudulent or deceptive — for example falsified inspection results, made-up claims, or reports designed to mislead an insurer, regulator or customer.
  • Infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark or other rights, including using another company’s logo or name to pass your app off as theirs.
  • Harasses, threatens or discriminates against anyone, or is sexually explicit or violent for its own sake.
  • Contains malware or anything designed to harm a device or system.

3. Use accounts properly

  • Each person signs in with their own account. Don’t share sign-ins or let someone use yours.
  • Don’t sign in to a company you were not invited to, or try to see another company’s data.
  • Remove people promptly when they leave your team.
  • Don’t create accounts in bulk or with false details, or use a free trial again and again under different names.

4. Respect the service

You may not:

  • Probe, scan or test AppGena for weaknesses, or get around its security, sign-in or billing, except as described under “Reporting a security problem” on our Security page.
  • Overload the service, for example with automated requests far beyond normal use, or interfere with other customers’ use of it.
  • Copy, scrape, decompile or reverse engineer AppGena or the field app, or use it to build a competing product.
  • Resell or rent access to AppGena to other companies unless we have agreed to it in writing.
  • Use the service in breach of United States export or sanctions laws.

5. What happens if this policy is broken

If we learn of a breach, we may remove the content, ask you to fix it, suspend the users or the account involved, or close the account for serious or repeated breaches, as described in the Terms. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put things right. We may also report illegal activity to the authorities.

6. Reporting misuse

If you think someone is using AppGena in a way this policy does not allow, email support@appgena.com with as much detail as you can. If the report is about information a particular company collected about you, see Your data and account.
